Nadi goalkeeper Vereti Dickson told his new– born son and wife before playing against Lautoka yesterday that he could not make any promises, but would do his best.

Well, Dickson did more than just his best. His crucial saves during the penalty shootout against defending champions Lautoka in the second Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants semifinal yesterday booked Nadi a final spot against Rewa today.

Dickson’s new-born son is named after him.

Nadi won 3 – 1. Today at Churchill Park, Rewa will take on Nadi who beat Labasa 1 – 0 on Friday at Ratu Cakobau Park. Kick off at 2.30pm.

According to Wikipedia, Nadi last won the B.O.G title in 1996 by beating Tavua 3 – 1
