The Labasa Bowling Club has started their weekly competition. Club secretary Suresh Sharma said they’re happy to see the interests shown by the members.

“Before we used to have 12 members in the club games and this was not a good turnout,” Sharma said.

“Now the club games are going well with more participation from club members. We’re now looking at getting more sponsors for the club games in order to bring in more people to participate.”

Sharma said this is the only way to revive bowling in Vanua Levu.

“It feels good to be around old and new players. For me it’s not about winning the competitions but more of enjoying the company of other participants.”

Sharma said they’re grateful to the Labasa business house for reviving the competition. The Labasa business house competition is played on Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm.
