Seaqaqa District School are the Northern Primary Schools Under-14 football winners. This was after they beat Labasa 3-2 on penalty shootouts at Bulileka College ground last Saturday.

Seaqaqa district committee member Mohammed Imran said they were excited with the win.

“It’s a sweet win for the young boys and I would like to thank all our head teachers for allowing the students to take part,” he said.

“A big thank you also goes to the coaches for their hard work. This win has lifted the morale of the people of Seaqaqa. Being away from the main town and government facilities we have proven that we can do much better than any urban teams.”

Northern Primary Schools tournament coordinator Rajnesh Swamy said it was good to see students from the six zones in Macuata, participating in the one-day competition.

“The zone winner will now focus on the primary schools interdistrict competition which will be held during the second week of the school holidays,” Swamy added.
