Nadroga players Eremasi Radrodro and  Joeli Lutumailagi flew out of the country yesterday to team up with Rugby Club Vannes, a club competing in the French league.

Radrodro made his mark as number eight for the Telecom Fijian Warriors and later for the Vodafone Flying Fijians.

Speedster Lutumailagi represented Fiji with distinction on the World Sevens Series.

“This is my first contract and thank God for giving me this opportunity,” Radrodro said.

“I will try to make the most of it for the sake of my family.

“This is another big step going to play overseas.

“I will learn new things, new training style and how I play.

The Mua, Batiki native has maternal links to Rararua in Nadroga also confirmed that a few other clubs were in contact with him.

“A few clubs got in touch with me. Rugby Club Vannes gave me a good offer and this is the time for me to go.”

Both players signed their respective contract last month which they wish not to let it go.

“This club was looking through my performance on how I played from last year and this year.

“My plan is to get to another good club with a good offer so that I can bring my family and stay in France.

“I always dreamt about this and prayed about it and work towards it and nothing is impossible.

“My parents are always there, supporting me and my teammates in Nadroga who are always supporting me.”

He wished his teammates well in their second defence of the HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge against Suva today.

The duo will join another Fijian Manoa Vosawai, who played number eight for Italy, together with some Tongan players.

He made his debut for Nadroga in 2013 against Suva at the ANZ Stadium.

This is Lutumailagi’s second contract in France.

“My aim is to do better than 2012,” the 31-year old said.
