Classic Wallabies in To Help

A team of Classic Wallabies will be in the country to conduct coaching clinics when Fiji host one of the Australia National Rugby Championship (NRC) matches at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.
This was confirmed to SUNsports by Fiji Rugby Union commercial manager Brian Thorburn.
“When one of these games is played in Suva there is going to be a whole talent of Classic Wallabies coming over as well. These are former Wallabies and some current players as well to do clinics here,” he said.
“They’ll probably make their own announcement so we can’t give you names but there will be some well-known players that will be here.”
The NRC is growing in stature, Thorburn says, and they are looking forward to a big crowd when Fiji play.
“It’s positive for us and it’s also positive for the competition as a whole.”
Fiji home games are on;
n September 16: 5pm v NSW Country Eagles at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka;
n September 23: 5pm v Perth Spirit at ANZ Stadium, Suva;
n October 21: 7pm v Queensland Country at Churchill Park, Lautoka
n October 28: 4pm v Sydney Rays at ANZ Stadium, Suva.
FRU chief executive officer John O’Connor said the NRC extended squad announced by coach Senirusi Seruvakula last week consists mostly of players playing in the Skipper Cup and Vodafone Vanua Championship.
“Also we’ve a few from the Telecom Fijian Warriors, Vodafone Flying Fijians and also those playing in the under-20 competition.”
