55 Vehicles Seized, More Than 10, 000 Traffic Offences Issues After 27 Days

Over ten thousand vehicles were issued traffic infringement notices in the 27 days of Operation Tatarovi III.
A total of 55 vehicles seized and 10,086 TINs issued for major offences like drunk and drive, careless driving, speeding and seat belts.
The Land Transport Authority chief executive officer Carmine Piantedosi said the results for the third operation are much better than the results for operation one and two.
He said there have been good improvements in the period of time by less TINs issued over the three operations.
But, Mr Piantedosi said, it is not a significant amount of difference and the large number of infringement reflects the driver’s attitude and behaviour.
“Drivers need to be more aware of other road users. They need to improve on their behaviour and driving attitude.
“Drivers are not the only ones on the road but the safety of all road users is paramount,” Mr Piantedosi said.
