South Island Shipping has confirmed that the Liahona I has two franchise trips this month.

Operation manager Ben Cavu said the first franchise trip would be on August 01 to Lomaiviti – Gau, Nairai and Batiki.

The second one he said would be to Lower Southern Lau – Kabara, Fulaga, Ogea, Vatoa and Ono-i-lau.

He has called on passengers to Lomaiviti to be prepared with their cargoes.

Mr Cavu said in July’s trips the Liahona had taken groceries, hardware, building materials and fuel.

He said the Liahona I returned from the Lomaiviti Group on July 28.

Meanwhile Mr Cavu said the Liahona II would follow its July schedule.

He said the Liahona II left on its franchise trip for Vunisea on July 25 and was back in Suva on July 27.

On July 28 it left on its franchise run to the Babaceva district – Dravuni, Bulia, Kavala Bay, Kadavu Koro and Burelevu.

It was back in Suva on JuIy 29.

In both these trips Mr Cavu said the vessel was carrying cargoes that included groceries, hardware, building materials and fuel.

For this month Mr Cavu said the Liahona II would serve all its Kadavu routes.
