Early childhood education is important and as it is the foundation of a child’s educational career.

Assistant minister for agriculture, Viam Pillay made the comment at Moto Sanatan Sammelan Kindergarten during the early childhood education celebrations in Ba yesterday.

“The values, knowledge and skills you impart unto them every day is the foundation of who they will become in the future,” Mr Pillay said.

He thanked teachers for preparing children academically, personally and spiritually.

“Now is the best time to make good use of the opportunity provided by Government in educating your children,” he said.

“Their education is our priority and should be your priority as well.

“Let us give them the best we can as they will replace us and will continue our legacy to their children and to the generations to come.”

He also encouraged the students to make the most of the educational opportunities provided by the Government to prosper in life.

“The future belongs to you and start dreaming big dreams.

“Nothing is impossible if you have the will. Success is yours if you work hard therefore grab this wonderful opportunity that is before you.” he said.

Mr Pillay also thanked parents for their tremendous support to teachers, school management and their children.

The 2017 early childhood celebration theme is Enhancing Quality

Early Childhood and Care through Sustainable Approaches for a firm foundation for Education in the 21st century.
