New Suva Face Namosi

A new squad will defend the HFC Bank Farebrother Challenge trophy for Suva against Namosi at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori, and today at 5pm.
Suva won the silverware defeating Nadroga 24-23 last week. And despite Fiji Rugby Union’s ruling in favour of Nadroga after Suva fielded three ineligible players, the Stallions gave the capital side the chance to defend the two remaining challenges of 2017.
Suva coach Saiasi Fuli said the 12 players who featured for Suva last week will not play against Namosi.
“The match against Namosi will be a real test for the team in terms of the squad and depth that we have,” Fuli said.
“As a coach I need to pick the best available players as you expect injuries, form or other commitments.
“Our squad will be very different but we need to work with what we have.”
He said the 12 players who have been told to rest were disappointed.
“They were disappointed when we told them that they could not play against Namosi,” he said.
“They were emotional and it was tough for them to accept it but that’s what it is.”
Suva will face Namosi at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori at 5pm today.
