The Vodafone Fijian U16 team played to a scoreless draw against Tonga in their second game during the OFC U16 Women’s Championships in Samoa yesterday.

Fiji’s Viniana Buke, Dilaisana Drorolagi and Eseta Sinukula had their attempts at goal but none proved successful.

Despite Tonga losing to Cook Islands 3-1, they proved to be tough for our players to handle.

Coach Marika Rodu said despite the draw, the players played to his expectation but will need to bring their A-game for their last game against Cook Islands.

“The girls really stepped up from our last game, we had chances to score but we could not finish properly so that is something we will need to work on,” Rodu said.

“For us now, we have a tough game against the Cook Islands and we need to win that game.”

Fiji will play Cook Islands on Friday at 4pm.
