Elections recruitment shifted to heart of Suva

The Fijian Elections Office has received around 1800 applications as of Monday and recruitment would continue until August 27.
For convenience the Fijian Elections Office recruitment will now be held at the Government Information and Referral Centre in Suva.
In centralising the recruiting drive Kshatriya Hall and Holy Trinity School had to be closed down yesterday.
Fijian Elections Office director corporate services, Sanjeshwar Ram in a press conference yesterday, said the move came about to bring recruitment closer to Fijians especially in Suva as they needed more people from the Central Division.
“The new elections officials’ recruitment venue is located right in the heart of Suva which was the old Fiji Visitors Bureau Building,” Mr Ram said.
He added it would facilitate ease of transport access and is convenient to members of the public. Recruitment schedules for the rest of the country remain.
Mr Ram confirmed that they have received around 1800 applications as of Monday and recruitment would continue until August 27.
He said that the computer based test had proven beneficial for the Fijian Elections Office as they have processed the first batch of applicants.
“I would like to thank everyone who has applied so far and for those who have not, time is running out, please take the initiative, come quickly and put in your applications,” Mr Ram said.
