Taganikoro Wants A Victory

Bukuya, Ba, native Vilimoni Taganikoro will do the talking in the ring when he faces Joseva Vaileba at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka, on Saturday.
The two will be the heavyweight contest fight under the Kiran Boxing Promotions.
“I want to win this fight,” Taganikoro said.
“This will be my fifth professional fight, I am unbeaten in the last four fights and prefer to maintain that record,” he said.
“I am looking forward to it and will do the talking in the ring.”
Taganikoro aims to be a champion of Fiji in the coming days.
He is following the footstep of his brother Evi Naioko who is also a boxer.
The 36-year-old made his debut on September 26, 2015 in Nadi where he lost by points to Savenaca Naliva of Sorokoba, Ba.
This year he recorded knockout wins over Sefanaia Vakacegu and Savenaca Tyson.
His first knockout win was over Epeli Naliva (Namosi) on October 22, 2016.
“I thank the promoter for having faith in me to be part of the programme.”
Promoter Ben Krishna said this was one of the grand fights he was looking forward to.
“Joseva is a good fighter and you cannot take anything away from Vilimoni. He is an upcoming boxer,” Krishna said.
Krishna said Taganikoro had won first round knockout fights and this is to be his third fight in his programme.
On the other hand Vaileba has recorded one win from three bouts since his debut in 2005.
He added the winner will face Savenaca Naliva, an upcoming fighter.
Meanwhile, Krishna confirmed that Ratu Epeli Naliva will not be part of the programme to face Soropeti Vuniyawa in the 6x3mins special supporting bout.
“Ratu Epeli Naliva has suffered injuries while sparring therefore Chin Samy will replace him.
“It’s unfortunate because he won’t be able to recover on time,” he said.
