It will be a special moment for the Narube twins when they play for the Queen Victoria School Under-18 team against Ratu Kadavulevu School in the Coke Zero Deans final tomorrow at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

Team captain Peni and his brother Emosi, who is also the deputy head boy for the school, are ready for the challenge.

Peni 18, started representing the school from the U-14 grade.

“I have been playing for the school and captain the team from the U-14 grade and I always dream to lead the U-18 side. And now that I have achieved my goal, I just want to thank God for this opportunity,” Peni said.

“It was through hard work and following our coaches instruction that has got me this far.”

As a Year 13 student Peni, from Navutu, Nadroga, aims to do the school proud.

“My aim is to do our school proud since this is my final year. I will need to encourage my teammates to go out there and just enjoy the game and play their best.

“As defending champions, we respect RKS as they are the Eastern Zone champion and we expect them to come out firing on Saturday.”

The team from Vulinitu aims to improve on their discipline.

“In our semi-final against St John’s College discipline was our problem.

“We lost two players to the sin bin in the second half. We can’t afford that against RKS in the final. We can’t afford to commit silly errors and give away possession easily.”

Emosi, who play at No. 8, aims to do his best for his brother and the team.

“This is the proud moment for us and for my brother to be captain, I’m giving him my all on and off the field,” Emosi said.

“We will all do our best for Vulinituraga.”
