$5K Boost For Aglime Naiyala 7s

Standard Concrete Industries is sponsored $5000 for the Aglime Naiyala 7s.
The two-day tournament will be held on Aug 17-18 at the Naiyala High School in Wainibuka.
The tournament is named Aglime because it is the product of the Standard Concrete Industries, a subsidiary of the Fijian Holdings Limited.
Standard Concrete Industries head of operations and mobile crushing Jiujiua Leca was grateful for the opportunity to sponsor the event.
“We are very happy to be approached by the organisers to sponsor the tournament,” Leca said.
“Our Aglime operation is located in the village of Wailotua in Wainibuka and we think that it is the best opportunity for us to give back to the community and show our appreciation for their support to the company.
“We would like to wish them all the best and hope they achieve their objective of hosting the tournament.
“We also hope the tournament will be able to produce national 7s reps in the future.”
Tournament organiser Unaisi Gaunavou was appreciative towards Standard Concrete Industries for their support.
“I would like to thank our sponsors Aglime for their sponsorship. We are also grateful to the Almighty for his blessings in making this sponsorship possible,” Gaunavou said.
“There will be 24 teams contesting for the prize-money and the cup winner will get $1000 followed by runners up, $500, Plate winner- $400, Plate Runners up – $200, Bowl winner-$200, Plate Runners up – $100 while the best player will get $50.
“The tournament is organised by the ex-scholars of Naiyala High School and the money fundraised will be used in building the church for the school.
“We will also be having a netball tournament where 16 teams will be competing.
“The prize money for the winner is $200, runners up $100 and the semifinalists get $50 and $50 for the best player.”
The tournament will feature prominent teams like Tabadamu, Samurai Barracudas and Police.
