A 26-year-old suspect was taken into custody on Saturday morning for allegedly bribing a police officer.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the driver was taken to Nausori Police Station.

Ms Naisoro said the suspect was stopped by a highway team conducting radar operations along the Kings Road near Koronivia.

She said while in the process of executing the arrest the suspect allegedly attempted to bribe the officer with $10 to let him go.

Meanwhile the 23-year-old passenger tried to obstruct the two officers during the arrest and tore the second officer’s uniform.

Both suspects were allegedly intoxicated.

They remain in custody as investigations continue.

Missing Woman

Police are seeking information in regard to a 23-year-old woman of Narere, Nasinu, Alena Toga who has been reported missing from her home since May 14.

The public is urged to call Crime Stopper on 919 for any information on the woman.
