Fijian team coach for the Australian National Rugby championship Senirusi Seruvakula believes they need to believe and trust the local players.

There are some pending decisions regarding the overseas players release for the NRC tour which starts next month but coach Seruvakula says it’s not a worry in the Fijian camp.

“We’re still waiting for some confirmation but we are not worried about that, our aim is to put all the locals in this programme and believe in these local players.

“This is a big stepping stone for them and good exposure,” Seruvakula said.

The Fijians will take on Tonga A as part of their build up match on Friday night at the ANZ Stadium at 7:30pm.

“This is to cap players that are not capped and prepare for NRC,” Seruvakula said.

Fiji plays Brisbane City first at Ballymore on September 2 and Melbourne Rising in the second round on September 9 at Harlequin Oval in Melbourne.

The Fijians will then play their first ever home game two weeks later in round three on September 16 when they host the NSW Country Eagles at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

The other teams to make the trip to Fiji this year will be defending champions Perth Spirit in Round 4 at the ANZ Stadium on September 23, Queensland Country in round eight on October 21 at Churchill Park, Lautoka and the Sydney Rays (Round 9) at the ANZ Stadium on October 28.
