The Labasa Primary schools Netball team have made a comeback after a lapse of three years to participate in the 2017 Lewasewa Fiji Primary School Netball Championship.

The tournament that kicked started yesterday at the Suva Grammar School ground attracted schools representing its various districts around the country.

Contingent manager Bulou Cabealawa said the teams aim was to revive their participation in the competition and make mark for themselves.

“It has been a lapse of three years now that we have come back to compete in this competition and the last time we took part in this competition was way back in 2014,” Cabealawa said.

“We are trying to revive the spirit of competition amongst the girls, develop their skills and also expose them to the level competition that netball Fiji have.

“There are eight primary schools from Labasa that are part of the squad in all the six grades and I am pleased with our under 13 grade who had just won their first game today.

“We had faced some financial difficulties prior to this competition as we had to look for sponsors to cater for their food ration and accommodation for coming over to Suva to participate.

“’I would like to wish all the players all the very best in their remaining games and hope they make us proud on the final day”
