East One U17 team won the Vodafone Fijian Secondary School 7s final yesterday.

The team comprised of Lelean Memorial School, Ratu Kadavulevu and Queen Victoria students defeated East Two team 24-12 at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.

The winners won $500 while the runners- up received $200.

East One team captain Sefanaia Vuli said it was good exposure to compete and learn.

“It’s a good experience for us as we learned more new things in 7s.

“We want to thank God for this victory,” Vuli said.

East One scored four tries through a double by Joji Voli and a try each to Sefanaia Vuli and Sitiveni Sanawa. Voli kicked two conversions.

East Two captain and RKS U17 captain Alivereti Loaloa was grateful.

“We want to thank the Lord, our school, parents and supporters,” Loaloa said.
