For the very first time Alliance Fran- caise de Suva is displaying the winning artwork of students that were part of the Fiji Airways Art Awards.

The 22 artworks based on the theme “Children of the Sun” were viewed by interested members of the public.

Cultural co-ordinator, William Ripaud said it’s the first time they are showcasing the artwork from the awards.

He said it was a great opportunity to showcase art and education and this is exactly what their organisation does.

“It’s great to see the art been integrated into the education curriculum and exposing the students is very important,” he said.

Adi Talewale Lalakobouma who read about the exhibition on social media was blown away by the artworks of the students.

“To see such talent in the painting, I didn’t expect it be this extraordinary,” she said.

She said the different colours and materials show how students are diversifying from how art used to be done back in the days.

A huge crowd turned up for the exhibition which is in collaboration between Alliance Francaise and Film Fiji.

The exhibition is free and open to members of the public from Monday-Friday from 9am-6pm at Alliance Francaise headquarters at 20 Desvoeux Road in Suva.
