Residents living along Khalsa Road in Nasinu breathed a sigh of relief after an illegal rubbish dump was removed by the Nasinu Town Council.

The Fiji Sun anti-litter team took a visit to the site yesterday and discovered the site has been cleared.

Talking to the neighbours living near the site they said it was a relief for them.

Vijay Kumar, 63, who has been residing there for years said they are now no longer breathing the bad smell coming out from the dump.

The neighbours said the rubbish was cleared last Thursday.

Rubbish has been cleared but still people dumped their rubbish again.

Neighbours are requesting if the council could place a big bin on the road side so that people can dump their rubbish in it.

Attempts to contact the council chief executive were not successful before this edition went to press.
