The Lomaiviti Princess V will arrive into Fiji in December.

The Managing Director Goundar Shipping Limited (GSL), George Goundar.

The new vessel he said would be one of the biggest vessels in Fiji, with a capacity to cater for 1500 passengers and could load about 60 trucks in total and had a top notch facility on board.

“The cost is about $3 million,” he said.

He said that shipping schedules would be reshuffled in December to fit in day schedules for Lomaiviti Princess V for services to the people of the north.

“We’re looking at putting two trips to Kadavu a week, we want to put a weekend trip like leaving on a Friday and coming back on a Monday morning on the Lomaiviti Princess III and Lomaiviti Princess I will do the Savusavu – Taveuni run”

The Lomaiviti Princess V he said would strictly do daily service to Savusavu – Taveuni leaving Suva at 10am expected to reach Savusavu at 4 pm which is just 6 to 7 hour trip.

Meanwhile the Lomaiviti Princess II will go for its franchise trip to the Yasayasa Moala – Moala, Totoya and Matuku on August 25.

Its last franchise trip to these islands was on July 26.

On August 05, it went on a franchise trip to Northern Lau –Cicia, Lakeba, Nayau, Tuvuca, Cikobia and Yacata.
