Katrina Manalibu was still deciding on what name to give her two-day-old baby girl.

But after the tour by the 11 queen contestants of the Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North, she now has a fair idea.

She is also waiting on the husband to confirm the name.

Ms Manalibu said: “So that when she grows up I will tell her that she was welcomed by queens.”

The contestants were informed that the Labasa Hospital was the friendliest and cleanliest divisional hospital in Fiji.

Labasa Hospital administrator Krishna Kumari said their vision for the infirmary was healthiness through friendliness and professional care.

“Our mission is to assist our customers achieve their health aspiration through a stringent customer care mechanism and to be vigilant and diplomatic in the execution of our diverse duties,” Ms Kumari said.

“One of the major achievements under the leadership of our medical superintendent Dr Jaoji Vulibeci is we achieved 91 per cent of our business plan activities.”

Currently, there were 39 medical posts, six nursing posts and 13 other workers were currently vacant, she said.

“There are some challenging issues and to name a few are shortage of space at maternity and paediatric units,” Ms Kumari told the contestants.

“In 2015 we had 2245 deliveries which was approximately 80 per cent of the deliveries in the Northern Division.

“The antenatal and postnatal wards are combined as one ward and together have a high occupancy rate of approximately 110 percent to 160 percent per month.

“The other challenge is that we have limited resources.

Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North president Subhash Chandra thanked Dr Vulibeci and staff members for sponsoring a contestant, Dr Komal Chand, in the pageant.
