The Interlink Shipping Line Limited had helped in the transportation of the Wasewase Biaugunu Choir from Biaugunu Village to Savusavu and then to Suva for the Methodist Church annual conference, choir and bazaar.

Operations Manager Manoj Kumar told the Fiji Sun that they were very much honoured to provide their prompt service to the Methodist Church group last week out of Vanua Levu and return.

“We are also doing the same for the New Methodist Church groups this week,” he said.

He said fare charged for the above group was $100.00 return per person including the bus service from Saqani.

Their normal fare just up to Labasa he said was $55.00 one way.

“We provided an additional of 800 km service for pick up and drop off for the said group.”

He said MV Westerland being the vessel of the people’s choice and a way for the Link to North, would always be there for the people of north with their prompt and efficient service in any event to make it successful.

According to Mr Kumar the Interlink Shipping Line Limited had bought over the operations of MV Westerland as of October 2016 and had been successfully operating between Suva/Savusavu and Natovi/Nabouwalu routes effective from December 24, 2016.

Meanwhile the Biaugunu choir sang a chorus titled “Marau Ko Viti Ni Sa Noda Na Qaqa” (Fiji rejoices that the victory is ours) and it is about Fiji’s gold win at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

The choir is made up of more than 50 members from, Udu Point (Yasawa-i-cake) and Saqani (Yasawa-i-ra) and had returned home on Monday, August 21.

They were picked up from Saqani village and would also be dropped there when they returned

The conductor and composer is Tomasi Bonaveidogo.

He said the normal route was for them to travel to Labasa then to Savusavu.

However, for this trip, Int erlink Shipping Line Limited had helped them.

“It provided buses for our loading at Saqani village right to Suva Methodist School and back,” he said.

He said it was a real blessing for them and thanked the company for their timely help.
