Former Methodist Church Chief Steward for the Suva division Kalisiana Koroi was yesterday elected the church Lay Vice President.

Mr Koroi was finally elected after two days of voting by Bose ko Viti members.

He is currently responsible for rolling out the Church’s Connexional Plan and the running of training workshops nationwide.

He received 453 out of 665 votes yesterday afternoon.

Mr Koroi possesses a wealth of experience in technical and vocational education, human resource management, human resource development, recruitment and selection.

Previously, he served as the Head of the School of Mechanical Engineering at the then Fiji Institute of Technology from 1987 to 1989.

He was training manager at the Fiji Sugar Corporation Limited from 1989 to 2001 and  general manager technical training – Training and Productivity Authority of Fiji (TPAF) from 2001 – 2009.

Mr Koroi will take up office in January 2018.
