Methodist Church Prepares Father’s Day Programme

The Methodist Church of Fiji has prepared a week-long programme for the 2017 Father’s Day.
Church Secretary For Communication and Overseas Mission, the Reverend James Bhagwan said the programme is prepared by Rev Buisena Ravoka, secretary for the Methodist Men’s Fellowship.
“It is a one week programme and starts on Monday September 04 to Sunday September 10, which is Father’s Sunday this year.
Everyday there is a biblical verse to read and study.
For Monday, September 04, the bible verse from Genesis Chapter 6: 9 – 22. The verses talk about the life of Noah.
On Tuesday, September 05, families are to talk about the life of Abraham after reading Genesis chapter 12 versus 1 – 20.
Wednesday September 06, Judges Chapter 6 : 1 – 8. The verses deal with Gideon’s leadership. He is known as a Military Judge. He displays courage I the face of the odds.
Thursday, September 07, I Samuel Chapter 17: 48 – 58. This verse talks about King David – A King after God’s Heart.
Friday September 08, The New Testament – Acts Chapter 9 versus 1 – 22. It s about Saul later known as Paul who is an influential leader and a good listener. He praises the Almighty God.
Saturday September 09 families are asked to organise chain prayer. They are asked to pray for the families and leadership in the villages,
leadership in all churches, preparation to Father’s Day service, those who are in difficulties, Government and its leadership and the 2018 general elections.
For Sunday September 10, Bible reading, Genesis Chapter 22: 1 – 9 and Mathew 5: 1 – 6.
On the Sunday of Father’s Day, the father’s would be participating in all the services.
The theme – Rise and walk in the spirit of the God and protect Lord of the nation.
For the members of the Methodist they will be following the week-long programme.
Father’s Sunday will be after the church annual conference at the Centenary Church in Suva.
Other churches will have their own programme on the day.
