Red & White Day At Nataleira For Senior Citizens

The Nataleira Women’s Club from Dawasamu, Tailevu North will be celebrating Father’s Day in a big and special way.
President Milika Munivai said on father’s Sunday they will celebrate as families and they will honour fathers and fatherhood.
However the former school teacher said at Nataleira the association had changed Father’s Day to Senior Citizen’s Day.
The number she said was declining as in 2015 there were 39 and this year there were only 29.
According to Mrs Munivai these were the people who made Nataleira village to what it is today.
She said they were all looking forward to this year’s Father’s Day.
For the Senior Citizen’s Day she said they would be celebrating it on October 29 sand the women had unanimously agreed decided to call it Red and White Day.
The women the village have divided themselves into four groups and the fifth group is made up of Nataleira women living in Suva.
She said each group had their own programme to look after on the day.
“The senior citizens will be given a red carpet treatment on the day and they deserve this,” she said.
As for Father’s Day, she said their senior citizens would be given special treatments at their homes.
The mothers she said had been reminded of the importance of this day.
For the gifts she said this was up to individual families.
She reminded all that when celebrating Father’s Day they should remember that – “Dad is a provider and a protector.”
