Village Hosts Afternoon Tea For Fathers

The village of Kabariki, Kadavu will be organising an afternoon tea at the village hall for the fathers on Father’s Day on September 10.

Speaking to the Fiji Sun, village headman (turaganikoro) Waisale Ratudina said Father’s Day programme for fathers in Kabariki would start at 3am.
At 10am he said it would be normal Sunday church service but the fathers would be leading the service.

He said the families would have their own lunch.

At 3pm, he said the whole village would gather at the village hall to have afternoon tea.

The mothers he said would be preparing the afternoon tea.

For presents to the fathers, he said this was a family affair and mothers would know the presents to be given to the fathers.

Mr Ratudina said Fathers Day would be celebrated Fiji wide and at Kabariki they wanted the fathers to feel the day and they would make it very special for them.

He said most of they would be making a lovo and a whole pork to be roasted for lunch.

The women he said had planned to fishing.

He said the people of Kabariki were looking forward to this year’s Father’s Day.
