We Expect More Members Tomorrow: Sanday

The New Methodist Christian Fellowship Church is expecting more members to join them at the closing day of the 2017 Annual Conference tomorrow at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
“We estimated that this week we have around 6,000- 7,000 members and this weekend we will see more than this as we have the Western members and Northern members also,” said church Manager Media Operations, Pastor Henry Sanday.
Pastor Sanday was speaking yesterday to about 6000 members with the theme ‘Irreversible Miracle’ and told members that God had already provided the needs of the people and they must aim to get it.
He defined the theme as “God has already provided and we just have to grab the opportunity and get it.”
He said members needed to work hard and commit to God with a lot of sacrifice and loyalty.
Pastor Sanday said throughout the week, every speaker would be preaching on the lines of ‘irreversible miracle.’
However, he said it was also a chance for the leaders to also step up in their position and take the opportunity at the conference to speak on the given theme.
Pastor Sanday said on every second day of the conference two church denominations were invited to the event.
He said there were around 24 Christian denominations in Fiji and it was important to work with them according to the work of God.
Meanwhile, Pastor Sanday said the New Methodist Christian Fellowship delegation visited the Methodist Church in Fiji Bose Ko Viti meeting at the Centennial Church this week.
Pastor Sanday said that like other churches who had been visiting the Methodist Church to show their support, New Methodist Christian Fellowship also visited to show their support.
“If a church is holding a conference then we should show our support and as for our visit to the Methodist Church in Fiji we gave a little donation,” he said.
Pastor Sanday said he did not expect to speak at the Bose Ko Viti meeting but this however gave him the opportunity to apologise to the church leaders.
“I was very humbled, we went to bless them physically by what we gave them and we told them that we support them in the work done for the Kingdom of God,” he said.
“Thirdly it was a great opportunity for me to ask for forgiveness because I know my preaching is straight forward and sometimes it is like I am directing the preaching to a certain denomination.
“This was an opportunity for me to ask for forgiveness and I feel great.”
Meanwhile, the church is expected to hold the next conference at Churchill Park, Lautoka.
Pastor Sanday acknowledged the Fiji Sports Council for allowing them to hold this year’s conference at the ANZ Stadium.
Today a march will begin from the Flea Market in Suva from 10am and make stops at the Holy Trinity Church, Yat Sen and Vatuwaqa Primary to the ANZ Stadium.
The conference ends tomorrow and a thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday.
