It’s a moment to cherish for anyone participating in a pageant contest.

Not only did Kelera Sauliga take out three titles and win the Miss Charity Award, she also won the title of Miss Vodafone Ba Riverside.

The 24-year-old sponsored by Singh’s Rental (Fiji) Limited took home the Best Research, Best Sarong, the Talent and Friendship awards.

She was crowned by the Minister for Local Government, Housing and Environment, Infrastucture and Transport Parveen Bala.

Originally from Nadogo in Vanua Levu Ms Sauliga said she had always wanted to take part in such an event so that she could advocate on topics which were affecting the people.

“I really think that climate change is affecting all Fijians especially after the devastation we witnessed during Cyclone Winston,” Ms Sauliga said.

“I advocated for climate change at the carnival and I am happy that I could tell the people of Ba about climate change issues and how we can help in addressing this issue.”

Ms Sauliga also said that she would  work hard to prepare for the Miss Fiji Pageant.

“I look forward to representing the people of Ba in the Miss Fiji Pageant and would love to share my message on climate change with all the people of Fiji.”

She thanked her sponsor Singh’s Rental (Fiji) Limited, and her family and friends who helped her during the carnival.
