Two Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) received assistance from Vodafone Fiji ATH Foundation during the Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North at Subrail Park in Labasa on Saturday night.

Vodafone Fiji chief marketing officer Rajesh Prasad presented a $56,000 cheque to Northern Charity Alliance and $20,272 to the Lions Club of Labasa.

Northern Charity Alliance treasurer Jagat Prasad thanked Vodafone Fiji ATH Foundation for supporting them with financial assistance, five years in a row now.

“With this assistance we are going to help out 18 clubs in different locations in the Northern Division,” Mr Prasad said.

“Such kind support is very helpful as we have many clubs coming up with new projects that will benefit communities, and villages.”

Lions Club of Labasa president Mohammed Rizwan thanked the foundation for enabling them to implement outreach programmes.

Chief guest Mr Prasad at the crowning said with the cohesion of the work the committee had been accumulating over the years made them ready to host the festival next year.

“Our strong bond of nine years with the able committee has seen the staging of an incredible fiesta over the last eight days,” Mr Prasad said. Edited: Rusiate Mataika
