7 Flying Fijians for NRC Debut

Seven members of the Vodafone Flying Fijians squad during the June Test matches have forced their way into the Fiji Airways Drua team, for the Australia’s National Rugby Championship opener against Brisbane City on Saturday.
They are Drua captain John Stewart, Joeli Veitayaki, Kalivati Tawake, Mosese Ducivaki, Mosese Voka, Frank Lomani and Eroni Vasiteri.
Drua head coach Senirusi Seruvkula said yesterday that the selection sees a good combination of experienced and young players who have either represented the Flying Fijians, Fiji Warriors or played in the provincial competition.
“I’m confident that the selected team will perform well in their first two matches of the competition,” Seruvakula said.
FRU chief executive officer John O’Connor reminded the players of the importance of them performing to their best in their matches in Australia and urged them to be good ambassadors.
He also called on Fijian families and supporters in Brisbane to come out in numbers to Ballymore Stadium to support the team.
