E-Ticketing Mandatory for Scholarship holders
All students under the Tertiary Scholarship and Loans Board have to register for the Vodafone M-Paisa in light of the E-ticketing for disbursement of bus fare allowances.
Board chief executive officer, Bobby Maharaj, said that it is mandatory for students to register with Vodafone M-Paisa as E-ticketing will come into effect from October 1.
“For other allowances, it is optional whether they want to come on board M-Paisa or do they want the allowance banked into their bank accounts,” said Mr Maharaj.
Students at the Fiji National University and the University of the South Pacific in semester courses will have to wait till next year for the scheme to come into effect as their semester has started and TSLB has already paid their allowances.
Currently the scheme is effective only for trimester students.
