The iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) decides on compensation payouts and not Fiji Roads Authority (FRA).

This revelation was made by Prime Voreqe Bainimarama at a talanoa session at the burnt Dogo Health Centre compound, Lodoni, Tailevu yesterday.

The spokesman of the Tabanimalo clan (mataqali) of Namena village, Waisea Vakalevu said they were yet to receive their compensation for gravel used by the Fiji Roads Authority.

“We were advised by the Fiji Roads Authority that the $66,000 gravel compensation was to be shared by two other clans,” Mr Vakalevu said.

“The money is with the iTaukei Land Trust Board, our clans owns that gravel,” he said.

In reply, Mr Bainimarama said the compensation was decided by TLTB and not FRA.

Mr. Bainimarama told the TLTB officer who was also at the talanoa session to look into the matter and have the payment made.
