Win Start For U20 In Uruguay

The Vodafone Fijian rugby side got off to a good start in the World Rugby U20 Trophy tournament defeating Hong Kong 26-7 in their opening pool match yesterday.
The Temo Mayanavanua- captained side braved the rain and put up a gutsy performance against Hong Kong who fought hard in the first half.
Fijian tries were scored by Mayanavanua, Lekima Nasamila and Apisalome Bogidrau scoring a double while Jamie Kotz kicked two conversions and Peniasi Ratu successful with one.
Mayanavanua acknowledges the Lord for the guidance.
“It was a tough match, they gave us a good run in the first half. Despite the unfavourable weather condition we held on and we managed to come out with a win.
“Teamwork will be the key in order to finish this trip on a high note,” he said.
The Baby Flying Fijians led 7-0 at halftime first.In other games Namibia beat Canada 31-16, Portugal upset the home side Uruguay 20-18 while Japan defeated Chile 28-22. The Fijians face Uruguay in their second match on Sunday at 7am.
