Nurse Of 14 Years Gets Big Break

For Kalpana Narayan getting a Bachelor of Nursing Science Post Registration was all she wanted. The hope of fulfilling her father’s dreams.
But she got her big break when she received the Overall Academic Excellence in her field from the Then India Sanmarga Ikya (TISI) Sangam College of Nursing and Health care Education.
The 36-year-old of Bulileka, Labasa was accompanied by her mother, Nirmala Wati and uncle Vijay Autar, at Kshatriya Hall yesterday.
She dedicated her two achievements to her late father Ram Narayan who passed away four years ago after a short illness.
“My father always dreamt of seeing me graduating with s post registration and today I am having mixed emotions,” Miss Narayan with tears in her eyes said.
“I am happy because I fulfilled his dream but sad at the same time to realise that he is not standing beside me to share this joy that he wished to experience with my mother.
I dedicate all my achievements to my father who loved and encouraged me to achieve great heights in life.
I miss him so much.”
“I have been a nurse for 14 years and I like working hard to upgrade my qualification,” the eldest of two siblings said.
“I am surprised to find myself holding two trophies because for me it was just about finishing off with graduation successfully and nothing more.
“I would like to thank my mother for her continuous blessing and support.”
