A bench warrant has been issued for a teenager, charged with one count each of abduction of person under 18 years of age with intent to have carnal knowledge and defilement of a young person.
Wakele Verekawa, 19, is on the run and had failed to appear in court Friday.
The case was called before Magistrate Sufia Hamza.
It is alleged that between February 24 and 25, 2015 at Nasinu, Verekawa unlawfully abducted a 16-year-old girl out of the possession and against the will of her mother.
The State was represented by Setareki Mocevakaca.
The case has been adjourned to October 9, for mention.
