Tavua Back In Premier League

Tavua has secured a spot in the 2018 Vodafone Premier League after beating Seaqaqa 3-1 during the Vodafone Senior League second round playoff at Subrail Park in Labasa yesterday.
Tavua was demoted to the senior division in 2012 after the Fiji Football Association introduced the eight-team format.
The teams drew 1-1 in the first round last Sunday.

What happened?
After a scoreless first half, Seaqaqa striker Taniela Rakaria broke the deadlock in the 60th minute.
In the 65th minute Atunaisa Livanalagi equalised for Tavua.
In 67th minute Rakaria was red carded and proved costly for Seaqaqa.
In the 80th minute Livanalagi extended the lead for Tavua before Lekima Rokolio sealed the win in the 89th minute.

Tavua coach Saroj Kumar dedicated this win to his team captain Niteshwar Reddy’s nine days old baby boy and to the people of Tavua.
“Fans looked down on us after we scored a draw with Seaqaqa last week. I told the boys we have to win to prove our own people back home wrong. I would like to dedicate this win to Reddy’s first child and to the people of Tavua.”
