Two Vodafone Premier League players teamed up with  W.W Tovata in the Carpenters Finance Labasa Sanatan Tournament,

Sponsored by Wananavu Waves, Dreketi rep Ashneel Raju and Labasa rep Anish Khem assisted in the team taking part in the tournament after 10 years.

W.W Tovata Sanatan team manager Kamlesh Chand said both players were brought up in Tovata and decided to assist their own village boys by forming a team for this tournament.

“The team have been playing very well after being boosted by Raju and Khem,” Chand said.

“The players played for defending champion Naodamu last year and now they have decided to help their own village team.

“We are in Pool Five and so far we have four points from a draw 1-1 with Tabia and a win over Boca 2-0,” he said.

“We will face A.C Lajonia on Wednesday and G&M Qawa on Friday. Also in our team is former Savusavu rep Shiu Prasad. Our aim for this tournament is to play in the final.

“We have a team of 15 players who have committed their time to play for their village.

“I have confident our team will perform to their best and make their people proud.

“I would like to thank the director of Wananavu Waves Shaneel Prasad for coming forward to support our team with sponsorship.”
