Fiji Broadcasting Corporation will now air a Crime Stoppers show.

FBC signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Fiji Police Force and Crime Stoppers at the Police headquarters in Nasinu yesterday.

Police Commissioner, Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho, said the show will help officers in their investigation for wanted criminals, missing persons, theft cases and public safety.

“I know Crime Stoppers were struggling some years ago to engage with the Police force but we’re back on track now with FBC on board so we’re happy and we have staff that are very experienced and capable of coming out and assisting.

“We cannot be everywhere at any given time but we’re working closely with community members and I must thank the Crime Stoppers in assisting in a big way.”

FBC Manager Television Operations, Vinal Raj, said the show will reach a wider audience and help Police in their operation.

“In a few weeks’ time we’re going to launch another channel which is going to be called FBC Two.

“The program will be launched in November which is on FBC TV’s sixth birthday. So we’ll have a bit of time to train the presenters from the Fiji Police Force.

“We’re about to also launch our streaming services as well, where we will stream to computers and mobile devices so anyone can watch the programme anywhere at any time.”
