Why not?

Women have the credentials and capabilities to be leaders of organisations, we need to stand up for ourselves.

The statement was made by Women in Business (WIB) President, Nur Bano Ali.

She said it’s a shame for women to see that most of the organisations are led by men.

There’s a need to support the recognition of women in leadership roles.

WIB is conducting workshops around Viti Levu to help up-skill women and they will be going to the North as well, said Ms Ali.

Women continues to face the challenges every day in trying to get into the top positions.

“Come on ladies, we need to stand up and stop holding back.

“If there’s opportunity grab it because you can do it,”she said.

For membership, Ms Ali said lately they have seen keen interests from corporate bodies.

Our main objectives are:

To move women in the top corporate leadership positions

Pass on knowledge and skills to those who can’t reach the top level.

Meanwhile, Women In Business held its annual general meeting on Tuesday night.

The executive committee members are now complete after the two vacant positions have been filled.
