Police Headquarters (HQ) volleyball team won the Fiji Police Force Women’s Inter-formation tournament at Subrail Park in Labasa yesterday.

They beat Northern in two sets twice 25-16 in the final. HQ team captain Elenoa Dakai said the last time their won the tournament was in 2015.

“We are so happy to come all the way from Suva to win the competition,” Dakai said.

“We had no proper facilities to prepare for this tournament. But we trained after work for a month wherever we found an open space. We would like to thank the Lord for giving us the strength.

“Some of us are in Labasa for the first time. Traveling and adapting to the Babasiga weather was quite challenging. We would like to also thank our sponsor Kontiki Finance and we are dedicating this win to all our colleagues at HQ.”

Meanwhile, Northern Police official Jone Bainivalu said it was the first time for the team to play in the final.

“I’m satisfied with what we achieved,”Bainivalu said.
