New find Peceli Nacebe is the man Vodafone Fijian 7s head coach Gareth Baber is looking at to spearhead our campaign in the 2017/18 World Sevens Series.
But the 21-year-old rising star has indicated that his focus at the moment is to ensure that the Fiji Airways Drua side record a win over NSW Country Eagles at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka, this Saturday.
Nacebe told the Fiji Sun yesterday, that a win will set the tone for the rest of the Australian National Rugby Championship (NRC).
He currently leads championship’s the top points scoring chart with 32 points and the top try scoring list with four.
“We’re really motivated for this match and we know the importance of winning it as well,” the utility back said.
“We’re capable of going through and this game will set the tone.
“We know it will be difficult but we will play our hearts out. I cannot say if it is the toughest team, we will find that out but we all have our chances. We always go into the competition with respect for our opponents and also looking to win each game.”
After two rounds, Nacebe admitted that the target is to go one step further.
“I cannot lie as we all really want to win this match and also the NRC.
“We look forward to a good eighty minutes of rugby and also a step closer to achieving our dream but first of all we’ve to overcome this hurdle that is in front of us.”
The match kicks-off at 3pm.
