The Australia Fiji Business Council (AFBC) in partnership with the Fiji Australia Business Council (FABC) are pleased to announce that online registrations for the 23rd Australia Fiji Business Forum are now open.

The forum will be held in Sydney, Australia on October 13, 2017 with a forum dinner taking place on the preceding evening of October 12.

The forum will take place at the InterContinental Hotel, centrally located in Sydney and this year includes one full day of sessions and updates from a range of expert speakers that will be invaluable for those currently doing business in Fiji or looking to do so.

The Fijian market offers opportunities for Australian companies in a range of services related to the operation and refurbishment of tourist resorts, building and construction, capital works in infrastructure including roads and bridges, power, water and sewerage, ports and airports, food and beverage and ICT products and services including back office and remote services.

This event brings together senior corporate and government decision makers from both Australia and Fiji.

We are pleased to host Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama to deliver the Fijian Government keynote address and invited keynote speaker for the Australian Government is Steven Ciobo MP, Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer.

The Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism, Lands and Mineral Resources, Faiyaz Koya, and the Minister for Minister for Agriculture, Rural and Maritime Development and National Disaster Management, Inia Seruiratu, have also accepted the council’s invitation to speak at the forum.

President of the AFBC, Greg Pawson said: ‘The AFBC and FABC have been running this forum since 1987 in Australia and Fiji.

“Participants have an unparalleled opportunity to learn about business opportunities in Fiji, and to network with senior Australia and Fiji based policy makers and businesspeople.

“There is huge opportunity for Australian companies in Fiji currently and by attending this forum, you will be equipped with the right knowledge and contacts to take advantage of these opportunities in the best possible way.”

Fiji Australia Business Council President David Aidney said: “We look forward to welcoming Australian and Pacific-based businesses to Sydney for this event.

“There has never been a better time to explore opportunities in Fiji with attractive incentives for businesses to operate from Fiji and huge potential in agribusiness, tourism and ICT sectors to name just a few.

“This forum offers a great overview of Fiji’s business operating environment as well as excellent networking.”

The AFBC strongly believes in building effective business relationships between Australia and Fiji to support investment and economic growth in the country.

This forum provides a great platform to further develop these connections. The time is right to see what Fiji has to offer and this event will provide attendees an excellent overview. Registrations are now open with an early bird rate available until September 30.
