Dreketi aim to grab the Vodafone and Bank of Baroda sponsored Vanua Levu Muslim Inter-District Championship (IDC) super premier title.

Coach Mohammed Sahid said the last time they played in the final was two years ago.

“Last year we played the Plate final and this year our aim is to improve our standing and win the super premier title,” Sahid said

“We don’t have any national or district reps. All the players are from Dreketi even those residing in Suva are supporting the district.

“One of the amazing experiences was getting everyone together.

“We didn’t have a proper training ground or facilities.

“Most of the players are working and so the only time we could train was in the weekend.

“We are sacrificing so much because we want to make our district proud.”

Meanwhile, Valebasoga coach Mohammed Yusuf said they are thankful to their sponsors Dalomo Group, A-Z Motors, Babasiga Sheet Metal and Sam Motors.

“We managed to field two teams,” Yusuf said.

“For us participation is more important than winning.”
