Twenty thousand tonnes of sugar has been loaded onto MV Ince Point ship at Malau Jetty wharf in Labasa destined for Europe yesterday.

This was confirmed by the Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) chief executive officer Graham Clark.

He said the balance required for the cargo will be loaded at Lautoka today.

“This is the third shipment to load at Malau this year but is the fifth shipment out of Fiji as two shipments were loaded solely out of Lautoka,” Mr Clark said.

“We are expecting to make two more shipments destined for Europe for this season.”

He said the FSC was able to meet the demand for sugar and export schedule.

Meanwhile, Mr Clark said the Labasa mill is expected to finish crushing for the season by second half of November 2017.
