Bureta Boss Eyes NCC Title

Bureta FC president Sunil Kumar is confident that they can win the 2017 Vodafone National Club Championship.

This was after striker David Matavesi scored in their 1-0 win over Lokia Landing FC in the Vodafone NCC Southern zonal playoffs. This saw the side qualified for the NCC finals to be played at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori on Saturday.

“We are fully prepared and we’ll do our best to win,” Kumar said.

Bureta FC who were runners-up last year put up a sterling performance in the zonal playoffs.

“We’ve been unsuccessful four times in the NCC losing out in the semifinals and finals,” Kumar said.

“We’re working hard this time to improve on our mistakes and win the NCC.”

The Suva-based club fielded top foortballers like Tomasi Uciloa, Waisake Navunigasau, Sairusi Nalabu and Sahil Dave.

“Our senior players have been playing well and we’ll rely on their experience to win us the game.”
