Lautoka Crusaders Call For Support

Newcomers Lautoka Crusaders are in high spirits of winning the inter-zone women’s rugby league competition title when they take on Nadroga Knights in the final clash at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka this Saturday.
Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Crusaders manager said preparations are on track as they are vying to make a mark for themselves.
“This our first year of participation in the competition and we want to make a mark for ourselves as well,” Tuinanuya said.
“We respect the Nadroga Knights side and our preparations are coming along well. And our preparation is to just work on our own game plan and areas in every aspect of the game. Every player is working on their fitness.
“It is great to see how players are committed to better their skills and performance. Surely it will be a tough final.”
Tuinanuya said she is overwhelmed with the fact that they managed to defeat defending champions Nadi Aviators in the semifinal last week and is confident that the girls can make it happen again.
“Our main aim of participating in this competition is to develop our players, broaden their skills and knowledge of the game and also be able to represent the country at international level.
“However, most of the girls are also eyeing the opportunity to represent Fiji at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. I would like to urge all our supporters to please come out in numbers to support the girls on Saturday.”
