Fiji Airways Fijian Drua captain John Stewart strongly believes getting basics right and maintaining discipline are the important areas ahead of their fourth round clash against Perth Spirit in the National Rugby Championship.

The Drua takes on defending champions Perth Spirit at the ANZ Stadium at 5pm on Saturday.

“We are anticipating a strong and physical game, especially playing the defending champion, we have watched videos of their games and they are very well organised and well-disciplined team,” Stewart said.

“I feel that we need to work on our set pieces and discipline and we cannot afford to be giving away penalties,” he said.

“We can’t be playing 13 or 14 men on the field.”

Stewart believes the young players have really stepped up with their performance in camp.

“These young players are happy and are eager to learn and I’m impressed with their attitude they have shown in camp and on the field, players like Peceli Nacebe who played a very instrumental game in the first two rounds, Kini Douglas, Frank Lomani,” Stewart added.

The captain urges members of the public to come out in numbers on Saturday and support the Drua team.

“Come and support your local boys playing against world class players who have represented the Wallabies team. It will not be an easy match so we need your support,” Stewart said.

Meanwhile the Classic Wallabies takes on the Waisale Serevi led Fijian 7s legend side as the curtain raiser match at 3pm.
