Our airline

Losalini Elizabeth, Doha

Just to follow up on my last letter about our national airline.

  Fiji Airways is the best.

Those who want to make smart remarks should try long distance in a full economy class on some of the famous airlines then compare their service with Fiji Airways on a similar flight.

Fiji Airways all the way is the best!

Real issues, please

Premila Singh, Suva

The Government is paying 50 per cent of my electricity bill.

Our bill for this month was $38 and I will only pay $19.

These are some of the initiatives people and political parties don’t know about.

How will getting the Great Council of Chiefs assist a mother in Tailevu, for instance?

Can we talk about real issues please?

A-G on the PS role

Sovaia Pace, Sydney

The Attorney-General is correct in sharing his frustrations about  Permanent Secretaries.

They earn more than ministers so why are they able to get away with being slack on their jobs?

Pay $5 minimum, NFP fans

Gyan Prasad, Nasinu

The minimum wage of $5 per hour sounds like a marvellous idea by the National Federation Party.

How about all those businesses affiliated to the NFP like bus companies in the North and hardware shops start paying their unskilled workers $5 per hour as  the minimum wage? If it works out, then we have good evidence to apply it to the entire country?

What say Professor Biman Prasad and Pramod Chand and all your business supporters?

Fijian Drua

Manoah Kaleca, Nakasi

When the Fijian Drua team played their first game and lost, many people were quick to write them off.

To add salt to the wound, the ear biting incident did not help the situation either.  After winning two consecutive games, the same critics have now become supporters.

This Saturday we will have the opportunity to witness first hand what these local boys can do on the field.

These boys give their all when playing against these overseas teams and they have sacrificed a lot to be able to be there.

It is only fair that we show them our support this Saturday by turning up in numbers and filling every possible space on that field.

I believe that this Drua team has the potential and capabilities to cause major upsets in the NRC tournament and even win it in the end.

It can be done…Go Drua Go!!!

Montfort bridge

Shariff Shah, Savusavu

Can the authorities concerned please answer to the general public of Savusavu as to when you are going to repair the Monfort bridge.

This is my 15th letter in 15 years.
