Australia, Fijian Soldiers In Joint Training Exercise

Australian Defence Force (ADF) and Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) soldiers recently conducted training in Counter Improvised Explosive Device (CIED) scenarios in Nadi and the Nausori Highlands.
RFMF Land Force Commander Colonel Onisivoro Covunisaqa after being briefed by ADF Lieutenant Stephanie Tully, the officer in charge of the training, said the participants would benefit.
The objective of this training is to keep Fijian peacekeepers safe overseas.
A release by ADF said these skills would enhance the level of protection being provided to RFMF peacekeepers on operations.
Over two weeks, the release said the soldiers focused on vehicle and dismounted drills in a simulated environment similar to the one RFMF peacekeepers would face on deployment.
Australian Army soldiers from 7th Brigade – Australian Army in Brisbane, relished the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience with their RFMF counterparts and build friendships through sport.
